About Katcha

Rich Heritage, Bright Future

Established in 1981 and carved from Gbako Local Government, Katcha LGA has been serving its residents with dedication for over four decades. With its headquarters in Katcha Town, our local government area spans 1,681 square kilometers across Niger State.

Home to 207,400 residents, Katcha is a vibrant blend of Hausa and Fulani cultures, known for its hospitality, rich traditions, and annual cultural festivals. Our economy is primarily driven by agriculture, with maize, millet, sorghum, rice, and groundnuts as major crops, alongside thriving livestock farming.

The Katcha market serves as a central hub for trade and commerce, connecting our community and supporting local businesses. We are committed to sustainable development, improving infrastructure, and ensuring quality services for all residents.
